KTR Urges Congress to Accelerate Hospital Construction in Telangana

BRS working president KT Rama Rao has called on the Congress government to expedite the completion of significant health projects initiated by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Rao accused the current administration of neglecting these essential facilities, stressing the need for immediate action to improve access to quality healthcare in the region.

In a recent statement, Rama Rao highlighted the ongoing construction of four Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals, each designed as a 1,000-bed super-speciality facility located in various parts of Hyderabad. He stated that these hospitals are similar in ambition to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and represent a crucial development in the healthcare infrastructure of Telangana. “These institutions under construction stand as a testament to KCR’s commitment to the people of Telangana. His legacy cannot be erased,” he asserted.

Rama Rao pointed to the advancements made during the tenure of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), noting the modernisation of government hospitals and the establishment of medical colleges in every district. He mentioned the introduction of new hospitals in both district and mandal headquarters, as well as the Basti Dawakhanas aimed at providing healthcare access to urban poor communities. Additionally, he referenced the approval of a 2,200-bed super-speciality hospital in Warangal and the expansion of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) to include 2,000 beds.

Rama Rao placed the blame for the slow progress of these health projects squarely on the Congress government, asserting that if the current administration had prioritized these initiatives, modern facilities would already be available to the people. He emphasized the importance of these hospitals for the health and well-being of Telangana’s residents.

As the debate over healthcare infrastructure continues, the BRS remains firm in its position that timely completion of these projects is essential for improving healthcare outcomes in the state.
