The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) has issued a red alert for four districts in response to forecasts of heavy rainfall. The warning affects Komaram Bheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, and Peddapalli, following predictions from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and local ground reports. The alert aims to enhance public safety and ensure effective emergency responses as these regions may face severe weather conditions.

Kamalasan Reddy, the TGiCCC spokesperson, announced that the organization has informed District Collectors, Commissioners of Police, and Superintendents of Police about the potential for substantial rainfall, which may lead to flooding and road disruptions. The TGiCCC is closely monitoring these districts for any necessary emergency rescue operations.

Statewide Preparedness Measures

In addition to the red alert, an orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem. These areas are expected to experience significant rainfall that may create localized hazards. The TGiCCC has activated its early warning system, disseminating alerts through the Sachet Integrated Alert Platform to ensure that both authorities and the public can take precautionary measures.

The Multi-Agency Operations Centre (MAOC) at TGiCCC operates around the clock, maintaining constant communication with district control rooms, local police units, and disaster response teams. All relevant departments have been advised to stay alert and implement local emergency response protocols as needed. Joint Action Teams comprising various agencies, including the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and the Telangana State Police, are monitoring areas prone to waterlogging.

Coordinated Response Efforts

The TGiCCC provides crucial support through live weather and flood monitoring using satellite feeds and IMD data. They utilize integrated GIS dashboards for incident mapping and employ video surveillance from over 100 cameras to assess the situation. Resource coordination among disaster response teams, police, and civic agencies has been prioritized, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the response.

Additionally, the TGiCCC engages in mass alert communication utilizing both the Sachet Integrated Alert Platform and social media channels to keep affected districts informed. These proactive measures aim to mitigate the impact of the anticipated heavy rainfall and ensure the safety of residents across the region.
