Chief Minister Saini Invites Debate on Key Issues in Assembly
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Wednesday that the government is prepared to engage in discussions on a wide range of issues during the upcoming winter session of the Assembly, which is set to commence on Thursday, February 26, 2024. This announcement followed a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee and marks a proactive approach by the government to address legislative matters.
During his address to the media, Saini highlighted that the winter session was convened ahead of the usual schedule, which is typically six months after the monsoon session. He expressed concern over the Opposition’s actions during the previous session, pointing out that a day was wasted, preventing legislators from addressing questions and issues pertinent to the public. The Chief Minister urged Opposition members to focus on raising matters that serve the interests of the citizens.
In response to a question regarding the recent attacks on sportspersons in Punjab, Saini assured that law and order in Haryana is being maintained effectively. He emphasized the alertness of the police force, stating, “When sportspersons are shot in the middle of the ground, no one is safe.” This statement underscores the gravity of the situation and the government’s commitment to ensuring safety for all citizens, particularly those in the public eye.
As the winter session approaches, it remains to be seen how the government and the Opposition will navigate the discussions. Saini’s invitation for debate may play a crucial role in shaping the legislative agenda and addressing the pressing concerns of the public.
