Triumph Launches Tiger Sport 800 Tour for Adventure Riders
Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its latest offering for adventure enthusiasts: the Tiger Sport 800 Tour. This new touring motorcycle is tailored for riders who relish long road trips and seek comfort while exploring diverse terrains. Building on the foundation of the popular Tiger Sport 800, the Tiger Sport 800 Tour incorporates several factory-fitted accessories that enhance long-distance riding, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for both the rider and pillion.
At the heart of the Tiger Sport 800 Tour is a robust 798cc three-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power of 113 hp at 10,750 rpm and a torque of 84 Nm at 8,500 rpm. This powertrain is coupled with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch, which facilitates smoother gear changes, particularly beneficial in stop-and-go traffic or during rapid downshifts.
Enhanced Features for Comfort and Convenience
The Tiger Sport 800 Tour comes equipped with a suite of premium touring accessories straight from the factory. Notable features include large, colour-matched panniers, a substantial 49-litre top box complete with a comfortable pillion backrest, a plush comfort seat, heated grips, knuckle guards, and a centre stand for easier parking and maintenance. These enhancements contribute to a total weight of 232 kg, which is approximately 14 kg heavier than the standard model. Riders will likely appreciate the additional convenience, particularly the 106 litres of combined storage space, ideal for carrying travel essentials.
The motorcycle is built on a strong tubular steel frame complemented by a pressed-steel swingarm. For shock absorption, Triumph employs Showa suspension components, featuring 41mm USD separate-function forks at the front with adjustable compression and rebound, while the rear is equipped with a monoshock that includes remote hydraulic preload adjustment. This setup ensures 150 mm of wheel travel at both ends, providing a comfortable ride across city streets, rough roads, and highways.
For braking performance, the Tiger Sport 800 Tour features twin 310mm discs with radial four-piston calipers at the front and a 255mm disc at the rear. Safety is further enhanced by Optimised Cornering ABS, which helps maintain control during lean angles. The motorcycle is fitted with Michelin Road 5 tyres on 17-inch alloy wheels, offering excellent grip in various weather conditions.
Market Launch and Availability
The Triumph Tiger Sport 800 Tour is set to reach international markets in February 2026. However, the timeline for its introduction in India remains uncertain, as the standard Tiger Sport 800 has yet to be launched locally.
As the motorcycle market continues to evolve, the Tiger Sport 800 Tour stands out as a compelling option for those who prioritize comfort and practicality in their adventures on two wheels. For ongoing updates in the two-wheeler and automotive sectors, stay tuned to industry news sources.
