BTS Star Taehyung’s Rope-Climbing Clip Sparks Viral Frenzy
On November 30, 2025, BTS member Kim Taehyung, widely known as V, captivated fans by releasing a new vlog on the group’s YouTube channel, Bangtan TV. The nearly 40-minute video chronicles his experience in Los Angeles for the Vogue World Hollywood event, showcasing behind-the-scenes moments, his routines, and a glimpse of his workouts.
The vlog opens with Taehyung enjoying breakfast before transitioning to a workout session. A notable segment features him jogging along the beach with his staff, where he comes across a rope set up nearby. Without hesitation, he climbs the rope with impressive speed, a moment that quickly went viral across social media platforms. Fans were quick to draw parallels between his athleticism and his training in the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Republic of Korea Army Military Police, where he served during his mandatory military service.
Fans expressed admiration for Taehyung’s strength and agility, praising his upper-body control and the ease with which he tackled the rope climb. Comments flooded in, highlighting his technique and speed, which many attributed to the rigorous training he underwent while in the military. One fan remarked on his ability to lift his entire body weight using only his arms, a feat that most people struggle to achieve without relying on their legs for support.
Taehyung’s military service began on December 11, 2023, and after completing basic training, he joined the SDT on February 8, 2024. This elite unit is recognized for its demanding selection process and high-stakes operations, including counter-terrorism and hostage rescue missions. Remarkably, he was appointed Platoon Leader (Trainee) just 18 days into his basic training, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills and performance.
Throughout his service, Taehyung excelled in various physically demanding drills. In March 2025, he suffered a cracked rib during training but still achieved the prestigious Special Warrior status. His dedication continued to shine as he secured top rankings in shooting competitions and winter urban warfare exercises. By the end of the month, he earned a promotion to Sergeant First Class.
His accolades did not stop there. In April 2025, he received the Military Police Excellence Award, ranking first in shooting and combat drills, and surpassing the Special Class standard in running. He was also honored with the SDT Exemplary Award for bravery in a stabbing incident, alongside recognition as a Full-Arm Marksman Special Shooter. Taehyung completed his military service on June 10, 2025, with a reputation for discipline and excellence.
Following his service, Taehyung emerged as a highly sought-after ambassador for various prominent brands, including Coca-Cola Korea, TIRTIR, and Yunth. On December 1, 2025, he was appointed global ambassador for Paradise City. That same day, Forbes Korea recognized him as the top-ranked male Korean idol of 2025 and fifth overall, marking him as the only male idol to be included in the Top 10 of the overall list.
The vlog concludes with a captivating clip of Taehyung dancing on a beach in Hawaii, teasing viewers with the promise of more content from his recent trip. As anticipation builds for BTS’s upcoming comeback album, set for release in spring 2026, fans remain eager to follow Taehyung’s journey both in music and beyond.
