Estevao Shines with Stunning Goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 Victory Over Barcelona
Chelsea’s young star, Estevao, made headlines with a remarkable performance, scoring a stunning goal in a 3-0 victory against Barcelona in a Champions League match held in Kolkata. This victory not only showcased the Brazilian teen’s talent but also drew comparisons to football legends, raising expectations for his future in the sport.
The match saw Chelsea take control early, with a goal from Jules Kounde in the 27th minute. Estevao’s moment came in the 55th minute, following a dominant display where he demonstrated his exceptional skills. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca acknowledged the pressure on young talents, stating, “Him and Lamine, if you start to talk about Messi and Ronaldo, it’s too much pressure for young boys like them.” Despite this, Estevao’s performances seem to inspire excitement among fans and analysts alike.
In the build-up to the goal, Estevao navigated past Barcelona defenders with agility and strength. His ability to twist and turn while maintaining control of the ball resulted in a goal that highlighted his potential as a rising star. Estevao’s contribution was significant; he was involved in seven attacking sequences, more than any other player on the pitch.
This match marked Estevao’s fourth goal in his first four starts for Chelsea, joining an elite group of players including Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who also scored in their first three Champions League appearances. Prior to this, Estevao had already made a name for himself with goals against Ajax and Qarabag.
The young forward’s impressive display did not go unnoticed. Former footballer Thierry Henry commented on his flair, emphasizing the importance of allowing players like Estevao to express themselves on the field. “It doesn’t have to be scripted all the time,” he stated on Sky Sports, highlighting the need for creativity in football.
Maresca has taken a measured approach to Estevao’s integration into the team. While he has started in four Premier League matches, he has often been introduced as a substitute to manage his development. Estevao’s scoring ability was also showcased in international fixtures, where he netted goals for Brazil against Tunisia and Senegal earlier this month.
Chelsea’s dominance in the match against Barcelona was evident, as they capitalized on the visitors’ vulnerabilities. Barcelona’s captain, Ronald Araujo, received a red card that further hindered their chances. Chelsea’s strategy, which included shifting players like Pedro Neto and Liam Delap into more effective positions, paid off handsomely.
Despite Barcelona’s struggles, Chelsea’s performance signals a revival for the team, particularly after a difficult season. With this victory, Chelsea demonstrated both their strength and potential as they move forward in the Champions League. Estevao’s emergence as a key player adds a thrilling dimension to their campaign, leaving fans eager to see what he will achieve next.
