In a recent statement, Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in-charge for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, Dharmendra Pradhan, asserted that there is currently no vacancy for the chief minister’s position in Bihar. Speaking in an interview with PTI Videos, Pradhan emphasized the enduring trust that the people of Bihar have in both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Pradhan expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure victory in the forthcoming elections, which are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, 2023. The counting of votes will occur on November 14. He highlighted the NDA’s track record over the past two decades, stating, “People have immense trust in PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. They have supported the NDA for the last 20 years, making it victorious in almost all assembly and Lok Sabha polls.”

The minister criticized the opposition’s alliance, known as the ‘Mahagathbandhan,’ particularly targeting Tejashwi Yadav, who has been named as the chief ministerial candidate. Pradhan reiterated, “We don’t have a vacancy for the CM’s post as Nitish Kumar has been there for the last 20 years.” He expressed his belief that the NDA would achieve an “overwhelming victory” and successfully form the next government in the state.

Addressing the growing popularity of Tejashwi Yadav, who has garnered significant crowds at his rallies, Pradhan dismissed his supporters’ claims of him being “Bihar Ka Nayak” (Bihar’s Hero). He remarked, “Supporters have the right to confer any title, but an immature person and a fake ‘Jan Nayak’ cannot encroach on the title of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur.”

Pradhan further criticized Yadav’s family legacy in governance, suggesting that their time in power was marked by corruption, stating, “Tejashwi Yadav and his family were in power for some time. What did they do except for the fodder scam and the land scam? They sacrificed Bihar for their own greed.”

Highlighting the NDA’s achievements during its tenure, Pradhan noted that Bihar has made significant progress in various sectors. He cited the establishment of the Makhana Board and the state’s emergence as the largest producer of ethanol in the past decade as key indicators of growth. “Today, Bihar is touching new heights… Agriculture has attracted investment,” he said, referencing the rapid development seen in areas such as Darbhanga where 16 flights operate daily.

As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, the political landscape remains charged with anticipation. Pradhan’s assertions reflect the BJP’s strategy to reinforce its position and appeal to voters by highlighting its governance record and positioning the opposition as lacking in developmental credentials.

With the elections just weeks away, the focus on leadership and accountability will likely shape the narrative leading up to the polls, as both the NDA and opposition alliances vie for control in the crucial political battleground of Bihar.
