Himachal Pradesh University Institute Shines at Model UN Event

The Himachal Pradesh University Institute of Legal Studies (HPUILS) was honored as the best delegation at the recent Model United Nations and Youth Parliament event held from March 1 to March 2, 2024. Organized by HPUILS with support from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Youth Circuit Chandigarh, the event successfully gathered over 200 students from across India.
Participants engaged in simulations of various United Nations committees, debating pressing global issues. Among the notable recognitions, Parth Sharma, a student from the Himachal Pradesh University Institute of Information Technology, received the title of best delegate in the United Nations General Assembly category. His contributions to discussions were recognized for their depth and clarity, showcasing his understanding of international relations.
Kanika Sharma, a student from Convent of Jesus and Mary School Chelsea, was awarded the best commendation award for her insightful participation and effective communication skills. This recognition highlights her ability to engage with complex topics and offer innovative solutions during the debates.
Furthermore, Aastha from Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) excelled in the United Nations Security Council category, earning the best delegate award. Her performance demonstrated strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive grasp of security issues facing the international community.
The event not only provided a platform for students to hone their diplomatic skills but also fostered a spirit of collaboration among participants. It aimed to encourage youth engagement in global affairs, emphasizing the importance of informed dialogue in shaping future leaders.
