Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga passed away on March 13, 2024, in Kerala, India, while undergoing Ayurvedic treatment. He was 80 years old and reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest during his morning walk at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Hospital in Koothattukulam.

Hospital officials indicated that Odinga collapsed around 9:00 a.m. and was promptly transported to Deva Matha Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:52 a.m. “He was on his morning walk and suddenly collapsed. Following his death, the body has been preserved at Deva Matha Hospital while officials coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Kenyan Embassy for further arrangements.
