Nitanshi Goel Wins Best Debut Female Award at Filmfare 2025

At the recent 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards held in 2025, Nitanshi Goel received the prestigious Best Debut Female award for her performance in the film Laapataa Ladies. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film showcases Goel in the lead role alongside Pratibha Rannta. Her character, Phool, is portrayed as a blend of innocence and resilience, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
Although Nitanshi Goel is celebrated for her debut film, her journey in acting began years earlier. Born on June 12, 2007, she started her career at the young age of nine with the television series Ishqbaaaz, where she played the character of young Anika. This early entry into the industry paved the way for her involvement in various popular historical and mythological TV shows, including Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha, Karmaphal Daata Shani, and Daayan.
In her role as young Kashibai in the series Peshwa Bajirao, Goel showcased her acting skills, which later extended to other projects like Thapki Pyar Ki and Inside Edge. By the time she turned 16, she had already made significant strides in her career, culminating in her lead role in Laapataa Ladies. Prior to this film, Goel was honored as the Teen Actress of the Year at an awards ceremony, setting the stage for her success at the Filmfare Awards.
During the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards, Goel competed against notable young actresses such as Ahilya Bamroo for *I Want to Talk*, Anjini Dhawan for *Binny and Family*, Dhvani Bhanushali for *Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam*, and Pashmina Roshan for *Ishq Vishk Rebound*. While Goel secured the Best Debut Female award, her co-star Pratibha Rannta took home the Best Actress (Critics) award, further highlighting the film’s strong performances.
In addition to her debut in Laapataa Ladies, Goel appeared in Maidaan, where she played a brief role as Seerat. This dual exposure in 2024 marked an important year in her career, showcasing her versatility and commitment to her craft.
Looking ahead, Nitanshi Goel is set to star in an upcoming Telugu film alongside Anand Deverakonda, the younger brother of popular actor Vijay Deverakonda. Early reports suggest that this film, backed by Sithara Entertainment, is anticipated to be a high-energy entertainer, further solidifying Goel’s presence in the film industry.
As Nitanshi Goel continues to rise in prominence, her achievements serve as an inspiration to young actors in the industry, demonstrating that talent and perseverance can lead to remarkable success.
