At least seven explosions have rocked the Balochistan province of Pakistan within a 24-hour period, resulting in injuries to two security guards but no reported fatalities. The blasts, which are suspected to be the work of insurgents, occurred in several locations, including Quetta, the provincial capital, and Dera Murad Jamali.

The incidents began on Saturday when militants targeted a police checkpoint in Quetta by throwing hand grenades. Following this, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near a vehicle belonging to the Anti-Terrorism Department. Three additional explosions were reported later that day. Senior Superintendent of Police Asif Khan confirmed that one blast occurred near Lohr Karez on the outskirts of Quetta, damaging the main supply line connecting the city to the rest of the country.

The series of attacks has heightened fear in Quetta, although authorities have reassured the public that there were no casualties. SSP Khan noted that miscreants had planted IEDs on a railway track, detonating them as a train approached Quetta station. This explosion resulted in damage to the track and led to a suspension of railway services.

In Dera Murad Jamali, a police patrol vehicle was targeted with hand grenades. Additionally, a construction site on Sariab Road in Quetta was attacked, damaging machinery and injuring two security personnel.

While no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, insurgent activity resumed on Sunday morning. Motorcycle-riding assailants targeted the Manzoor Shaheed police station in Quetta, throwing two hand grenades. One exploded, while the other was successfully defused by a bomb disposal squad. Further, hand grenades were hurled in the Kech Beg area, near another police patrol post in Quetta.

The recent surge in violence underscores ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, a province known for its instability and history of insurgent attacks. Authorities continue to investigate the incidents, aiming to restore stability in the region.
