Madhya Pradesh CM’s Son Celebrates Mass Wedding with 21 Couples
In a groundbreaking event promoting social harmony, Dr. Abhimanyu Yadav, son of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, married Dr. Ishita Patel in a mass wedding ceremony on November 30, 2025. The event took place in Sanwara Khedi, Ujjain, and featured 21 other couples, all celebrating their unions in a setting focused on equality and simplicity.
The mass wedding stood out as a significant departure from traditional high-profile ceremonies often characterized by extravagant decorations and celebrity performances. Instead, it emphasized a message of social unity, showcasing a collective commitment to cultural values over material displays.
Notable Guests Attend Ceremony
The guest list included prominent figures such as Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, and Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Durga Das Uikey. Accompanying them were Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and Hindu preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. Their attendance underscored the importance of the event, transforming it into a powerful statement about cultural and social values.
Baba Ramdev played a central role in the ceremony, presiding over the wedding and offering blessings to all couples equally. He highlighted the significance of such low-cost, collective celebrations, encouraging their promotion as a means to foster social harmony.
“This event embodied the message of the Bhagavad Gita and displayed social harmony beyond discrimination,”
he stated, emphasizing the need for inclusivity in cultural practices.
Chief Minister Expresses Gratitude
Following the ceremony, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took to X to express his heartfelt gratitude. He remarked, “By the boundless grace of Baba Mahakal and Lord Shri Gopal Krishna, our son Dr. Abhimanyu and Dr. Ishita, along with 21 newlywed couples, were united in sacred matrimony. This occasion embodies the triveni of Sanatan culture, social harmony, and equality.”
The mass wedding initiative has been hailed for its potential to challenge conventional norms surrounding marriage celebrations in India, promoting a more egalitarian approach. As the event concluded, it left a lasting impression on attendees, reinforcing the values of simplicity, unity, and equality in a society often marked by disparity.
