GCL’s 4Divinity Gains Global Rights for Mobile Game ‘Kingdom Under Fire’

GCL Global Holdings Ltd., a prominent player in the games and entertainment industry, has announced that its subsidiary, 4Divinity Pte. Ltd., has secured global publishing rights for the mobile game “Kingdom Under Fire: The Civil War.” This agreement, finalized on September 11, 2025, with Taiwan-based Alliance-Star International Enterprise Co., Ltd., allows 4Divinity to publish and distribute the game across all mobile platforms globally, with the exception of Singapore and Malaysia.
Sebastian Toke, Group CEO of GCL, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating, “This partnership advances our strategy to scale Asian-developed IP in the global mobile game market.” He expressed confidence that “Kingdom Under Fire: The Civil War” would attract mobile gamers worldwide, citing the creative capabilities of Alliance-Star and GCL’s extensive global channels. This collaboration aims to enhance GCL’s presence in the highly competitive card and collectible game segments, particularly in lucrative markets like the United States and Japan.
The card and collectible genre, which includes mobile games such as card battlers and gacha hybrids, has shown strong resilience in terms of engagement and monetization. According to GameAnalytics, the average revenue per paying user (ARPPU) in this segment typically ranges from $20 to $80 monthly. This financial potential is particularly relevant in the U.S., where disciplined user acquisition strategies are essential to optimize the predicted lifetime value (LTV) of users.
Japan, known for its gacha-native market, offers some of the highest LTVs globally when supported by effective live operations, temporary promotional events, and battle passes. The agreement gives 4Divinity the authority to select regional publishing partners and devise marketing and monetization strategies, including in-app purchases and advertising revenue.
Additionally, this partnership includes a rights of first refusal for future titles and transmedia opportunities developed by Alliance-Star, reinforcing GCL’s commitment to fostering high-quality Asian intellectual property (IP). The game is expected to be commercially released by the end of 2025.
