Eknath Shinde Promises Metro Link and Development in Ambernath
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has committed to enhancing infrastructure in Ambernath, a town in the Thane district, by pledging to introduce metro connectivity if his party achieves victory in the upcoming local body elections. Speaking at an election rally on the night of March 30, 2024, Shinde highlighted the development initiatives underway in the area, which is part of the constituency represented by his son, Dr Shrikant Shinde, a Member of Parliament from Kalyan.
During his address, Shinde asserted his dedication to the principles of the late Balasaheb Thackeray, proclaiming himself as a true Shiv Sainik who stands by the promises made to the public. He showcased various development efforts in Ambernath and outlined plans for metro connectivity alongside a proposed Thane-model cluster scheme that aims to enhance urban infrastructure.
“If residents wish to see change, they must ensure our rivals lose their deposits in the Ambernath Municipal Council elections,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of voter support for his party’s initiatives.
Shinde reflected on his upbringing and the challenges he faced, crediting the sacrifices of his mother and wife as his motivation for launching the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme. This initiative provides a monthly allowance of ₹1,500 (approximately USD 18.50) to women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. He noted that the scheme has garnered significant appreciation among women throughout Maharashtra.
Commitment to Development in Roha
On March 31, 2024, Shinde held a roadshow in Roha, located in the Raigad district, where he continued to campaign for support ahead of the elections. Addressing the crowd, he encouraged voters to back the ‘Bow and Arrow’ symbol, which represents the Shiv Sena party, if they desire genuine progress and development in their community.
Shinde urged residents of Roha to support Shilpa Dhotre, the Mahayuti candidate, and her team, promising that their election would lead to enhanced facilities and faster development. He assured the public of the Shiv Sena’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Roha and pledged that the government would allocate necessary funds for critical projects.
These projects include upgrades to roads, provision of clean drinking water, implementation of an underground drainage system, enhancement of hospital facilities, and the cleaning of the Kundalika river. Shinde noted that a substantial amount of funding has already been directed towards Roha, with plans for additional improvements in the coming years.
As the local body elections approach, the commitment to development articulated by Eknath Shinde and his party may influence voter sentiment and shape the future of Ambernath and Roha.
