The Patiala House Court in Delhi has granted bail to Gaganpreet Kaur in connection with a high-profile accident involving a BMW that resulted in the death of Navjot Singh, a deputy secretary in the Ministry of Finance. The incident occurred on September 14, and Kaur will be released upon posting a bond of Rs 1 lakh and providing two sureties of the same amount. As part of the court’s conditions, she is required to surrender her passport.
In her legal representation, Kaur’s counsel presented CCTV footage from the scene of the accident, asserting that it demonstrated her lack of fault and affirmed that the collision was accidental. Authorities are expected to further analyze the evidence before reaching any final conclusions.
This incident has sparked conversations regarding road safety and the responsibilities of drivers in similar situations. As the case progresses, the focus will likely remain on the legal ramifications and the broader context surrounding traffic incidents in urban areas like Delhi.
