Odisha’s Om Prakash Behera Achieves Perfect Score in JEE Main 2025
Seventeen-year-old Om Prakash Behera from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has made headlines after scoring a perfect 300 out of 300 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. His achievement is a testament to his dedication and disciplined study habits as he aims for admission into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Om’s journey began with a deep-seated passion for Mathematics and Physics, which sparked his interest in pursuing the JEE. Initially, he focused on self-study, but a friend’s suggestion led him to relocate to Kota, a city renowned for its educational institutions catering to aspiring IIT students. “I was doing self-study initially, but then my friend asked me to come to Kota for JEE preparation,” he shared with Times Now Digital.
Strategic Study Plan and Coping Mechanisms
Om attributes his success to a systematic approach to studying. He emphasized the importance of staying focused on the syllabus and avoiding distractions. “It is crucial for aspirants to seek guidance and moral support from their teachers, as they have experience tutoring lots of students and know exactly how to cope with problems,” he advised.
For students preparing for the JEE, Om highlighted the effectiveness of mock tests and regular revisions. He noted that these practices not only help in understanding concepts but also in identifying and correcting mistakes. “I learn from others’ mistakes,” he said, illustrating his proactive approach to learning.
To maintain mental well-being during his rigorous study schedule, Om dedicated between 8 to 9 hours a day to his studies while also incorporating stress-relief strategies. He frequently discussed his challenges with his parents and teachers. “Sometimes, I would sit with my friends to feel better,” he mentioned, underscoring the importance of social support in his preparation.
Focus on Core Resources
Om’s study regimen predominantly revolved around NCERT textbooks and resources provided by coaching institutes. He emphasized the value of clarity in understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. “I mainly do self-study; however, sometimes, I go for group study as it helps in solving doubts and boosting confidence,” he explained.
His disciplined mix of individual and collaborative study allowed him to effectively tackle difficult topics and reinforce his knowledge. Om’s success serves as an inspiring example for future candidates, encouraging them to develop a tailored study approach that suits their individual learning styles.
Overall, Om Prakash Behera’s remarkable achievement in the JEE Main 2025 highlights the impact of structured preparation, continuous learning, and emotional support in achieving academic excellence.
