Aryna Sabalenka Claims 2025 US Open Title with Dominant Win

Aryna Sabalenka has secured her fourth Grand Slam title by triumphing at the 2025 US Open, defeating Amanda Anisimova of the United States in straight sets. The match concluded with scores of 6-3, 7-6, marking a significant milestone in Sabalenka’s career and establishing her dominance in women’s tennis.
This victory not only adds to Sabalenka’s impressive record but also highlights her consistent performance in recent years. Prior to winning the US Open, the Belarusian athlete captured the titles at the 2023 and 2024 Australian Open, as well as the 2024 US Open. With this latest win, she now stands at 101-26 in Grand Slam match victories.
Career Highlights and Match Statistics
Sabalenka’s win against Anisimova marked her 100th victory in Grand Slam matches. With this title, she has reached the finals of Grand Slam tournaments seven times, achieving a record of 4-3 in those matches. At the US Open specifically, she boasts a remarkable 35-6 record from her 41 appearances.
Anisimova, on the other hand, was competing in her second consecutive Grand Slam final. She had previously lost to Iga Swiatek in the final of Wimbledon 2025, being defeated in a 6-0, 6-0 match. Overall, Anisimova holds a record of 44-23 in Grand Slam events. This encounter was their tenth meeting on the WTA Tour, and now Sabalenka has improved her head-to-head record to 4-6 against Anisimova.
This final was particularly competitive, with both players showcasing their skills. Although Sabalenka recorded only one ace compared to Anisimova’s four, the American player struggled with seven double faults, while Sabalenka managed just two. In terms of offensive play, Sabalenka hit 13 winners to Anisimova’s 22 but benefitted from Anisimova’s greater number of unforced errors, with a count of 29 to Sabalenka’s 15.
Significance of the Victory
Sabalenka’s statistics in this match reflect her strategic prowess. She achieved a 59% win rate on her first serves and an impressive 71% on her second serves. Additionally, Sabalenka converted five out of six break points and won three out of four points at the net.
This victory positions Sabalenka as the first player to win consecutive women’s singles titles at the US Open since Serena Williams accomplished the feat in 2013-2014. Furthermore, she joins the ranks of only three players in the Open Era to win their first four Grand Slam titles on hard courts, alongside renowned players Naomi Osaka and Kim Clijsters.
As Sabalenka continues to rise in the tennis world, her achievements serve as a testament to her skill and determination, making her a formidable opponent on the court and a prominent figure in the sport. With the 2025 season underway, fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how her journey unfolds in the coming months.
