Experts Advocate for Science Inclusivity at National Workshop

A national workshop titled ‘Communicate to Connect: Science for All’ commenced on March 13, 2024, at the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT) in Palampur. Organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) based in New Delhi, the two-day event aims to foster inclusive communication within the scientific community.

The inaugural day of the workshop featured prominent addresses from leading figures in science communication. Dr. Geetha Vani Rayasam, Director of CSIR-NIScPR, highlighted the necessity of informing students and various stakeholders about the extensive scientific research occurring throughout India. She emphasized the vital contributions of scientists working in remote areas, such as Palampur, underlining the need for their research to be recognized and communicated effectively.

In her speech, Dr. Rayasam stated, “It is essential that we bridge the gap between scientific research and the public.
