DATANYX 2025 Kicks Off at MJCET, Engaging 1,200 Participants
The Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) launched its national-level datathon, DATANYX 2025, on March 15, 2025. The 24-hour event commenced at Ghulam Ahmed Hall, bringing together students, academicians, and industry experts from across India. The inauguration featured notable figures including Mr. Zafar Javeed, Honorary Secretary of the Society of Underprivileged Engineering Students (SUES), and other distinguished guests.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Uma N. Dulhare, Head of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Department and Convener of DATANYX 2025, showcased the department’s achievements and noted the increasing participation since the event’s inception in 2024. She emphasized the importance of innovation and interdisciplinary learning as key objectives of the datathon.
Encouragement and Insights from Dignitaries
During the ceremony, Prof. M. S. Rawat urged participants to leverage the competitive nature of the event to collaborate and create impactful solutions. He encouraged students to delve deeply into the problem statements presented, highlighting the potential for research-oriented outcomes.
Principal Dr. S. Srinivasa Rao elaborated on the four thematic domains of the event: Agritech, FinTech, EdTech, and MedTech. He called on participants to develop solutions that address real-world challenges, underscoring the urgency of such endeavors in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
The Guest of Honor, Mr. Arif Sabeel Mohammed, Vice President of Synchrony, offered insightful advice on achieving success. He shared five essential principles, including the importance of overcoming fear, effectively managing competition, and maintaining motivation in a global context.
The keynote address was delivered by Bala Prasad Peddigari, Chief Information Officer at TCS. He discussed the implications of emerging technologies and the evolving role of students in the age of artificial intelligence. Peddigari encouraged participants to focus on socially impactful solutions, particularly those that help alleviate academic stress and foster innovations in agriculture.
A Thriving Participation and Competitive Spirit
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a formal acknowledgment of the dignitaries, followed by a Vote of Thanks from Dr. Md. Asrar Ahmed, Associate Head and Faculty Coordinator. The gathering ended with the playing of the National Anthem.
DATANYX 2025 has seen an impressive turnout, with a total of 1,200 registrations. From these, 60 teams comprising 240 students from various states and leading institutions across India have been shortlisted to compete. Industry mentors and jury members will evaluate the teams based on criteria such as innovation, problem-solving capabilities, and the quality of their solutions.
The evaluation phase is set to begin tomorrow, followed by the Valedictory Ceremony scheduled for 12:00 Noon. The overwhelming interest in DATANYX 2025 highlights the growing enthusiasm for data science and artificial intelligence among students, showcasing the potential for future innovations in these fields.
