PM Modi Celebrates Youth’s Role in Viksit Bharat During ‘Mann Ki Baat’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the vital role of India’s youth in shaping a prosperous future, dubbed ‘Viksit Bharat’, during his monthly radio address, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, on November 26, 2023. Highlighting recent achievements across various sectors, he praised the dedication and innovative spirit of young people in the country, asserting it as a cornerstone of progress.
In his 128th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi cited notable events, including the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’, the celebration of Constitution Day at the Central Hall, and the hoisting of the ‘Dharmadhwaja’ at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He also mentioned the inauguration of the world’s largest LEAP engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad, alongside the induction of INS ‘Mahe’ into the Indian Navy.
Modi remarked on the recent advancements in India’s space sector, particularly the boost provided by Skyroot Aerospace’s Infinity Campus. “This is a reflection of India’s new thinking, innovation, and youth power,” he stated, affirming the remarkable strides being made in the country’s space ecosystem.
The Prime Minister shared a compelling story of a drone competition organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He described a video showcasing the attempts of young participants, particularly from Generation Z, to operate drones under conditions mimicking those on Mars. “They were trying to fly drones solely with camera guidance and built-in software, without GPS support,” he explained, noting the persistence of these youths despite initial failures.
Modi drew parallels between the drone competition and the journey of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, which followed the disappointment of losing contact with Chandrayaan-2. “It was the success of the new confidence built after coming out of failure. I saw that same spark in the eyes of the young people seen in this video,” he remarked, highlighting the importance of resilience in the face of challenges.
In addition to technological advancements, the Prime Minister also discussed various initiatives related to bee farming across India. He recognized the nation’s growing achievements in sports, including India winning the bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030. Modi also reflected on his recent trips to South Africa for the G20 Summit and to Bhutan, underscoring the global engagements that strengthen India’s position on the world stage.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by expressing pride in the dedication of India’s youth and the commitment of its scientists. “Every time I see the dedication of our youth and the spirit of commitment of our scientists, my heart fills up with enthusiasm. This dedication of the youth is one of the greatest strengths of Viksit Bharat,” he affirmed, underscoring the crucial role that young innovators will play in India’s future development.
