Vivek Oberoi Joins Prabhas in Upcoming Action Thriller “Spirit”
Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated film “Spirit,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The movie features Prabhas, known for his role in Baahubali, portraying a never-before-seen version of an angry young police officer battling a mafia syndicate.
The announcement comes in conjunction with the release of the film’s audio teaser on March 15, 2024, coinciding with Prabhas’ 46th birthday. In a post shared on his social media, Oberoi expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “#OneBadHabit is all it takes to get you #inspiritmode. And what a powerful ‘SOUND-STORY’ that was! Happy Birthday to the Rebel Star, #Prabhas! Hoping the surprise lifted your spirits! Super kicked about bringing this action to life with your unmatched magic @imvangasandeep!”
The teaser, which is available in five Indian languages, features a conversation between a jailer and his assistant discussing an ex-cop in remand. The jailer issues commands, while the assistant emphasizes the need for decorum. The teaser culminates with Prabhas’ voice, revealing, “Sir, since childhood, I have one bad habit,” a line that hints at the character’s complex background and motivations.
“Spirit” aims to showcase Prabhas in a role that is expected to be one of his most intense performances to date. The film’s premise, combined with Vanga’s acclaimed direction, has generated considerable buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.
Initially, Deepika Padukone was slated to star as the female lead; however, she exited the project due to unsuccessful negotiations. Following her departure, actress Triptii was cast, marking her debut in Telugu cinema. The full cast details remain under wraps, but the film’s production team is expected to unveil more information soon.
As anticipation builds for this action drama, fans are eager to see how Prabhas and Oberoi’s performances will bring the gripping storyline to life. The combination of a powerful narrative and a dynamic cast sets the stage for “Spirit” to potentially become a highlight in the upcoming film calendar.
