Lokesh Kanagaraj makes his debut as a lead actor in the upcoming film titled DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran. The production company, Sun Pictures, released a teaser on Saturday evening, igniting excitement among fans. This film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, who plays a significant role alongside Kanagaraj.

The teaser, which runs for one minute, suggests a narrative reminiscent of a Bonnie and Clyde-style love story. It features striking visuals of Kanagaraj and Gabbi walking together through various settings, culminating in a tense moment in a room, where both characters appear to share an intense connection. The footage portrays Kanagaraj as Devadas, while Gabbi takes on the role of Chandra. Notably, Kanagaraj is depicted in a dramatic scene, covered in blood and smoking a cigarette, as he prepares for a confrontation with Gabbi’s character.

Behind the Scenes of ‘DC’

Arun Matheswaran directs DC with a screenplay co-written by Arun Ranjan, and dialogues crafted by both Arun and Franklin Jacob. While Sanjana Krishnamoorthy is part of the cast, details about her character have yet to be revealed. The film marks a significant milestone for Kanagaraj, who previously appeared in Shruti Haasan’s music video, Inimel.

The music for DC is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with the teaser featuring the song “Ain’t Nobody,” which includes vocals by Ram Kumar and lyrics attributed to the enigmatic Heisenberg. While the teaser has successfully generated buzz, the release date and further details about the film remain unannounced.

Recent Works and Future Projects

Matheswaran’s recent project, which released in 2024, was Captain Miller, featuring Dhanush. He is also set to direct a biopic on the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja in the near future.

In addition to his directorial endeavors, Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has previously directed successful films like Coolie featuring Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, has made cameo appearances in films such as Master and Singapore Saloon. Gabbi, meanwhile, has a busy schedule ahead, with upcoming projects including G2, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Bhoot Bangla, and Genie.

As anticipation builds for DC, both Kanagaraj and Gabbi are poised to showcase their talents in a film that promises a unique blend of romance and action.
