Kim Kardashian Defends North West Against TikTok Criticism
Reality television star Kim Kardashian has publicly defended her daughter, North West, following backlash over the 12-year-old’s recent TikTok videos featuring fake tattoos and piercings. The clips, which North shared on her joint TikTok account with Kardashian, showed her experimenting with various face modifications, including colored hair strings and eye lenses, alongside friends.
The videos quickly went viral, igniting criticism from some social media users. Comments ranged from disapproval of North’s style choices to suggestions that she should enjoy her childhood. One user remarked, “How about go be a kid,” while another emphasized North’s age, stating, “She’s 12 years old, by the way.” In response to the criticism, the TikTok account posted a message asserting, “This is such a non-issue,” accompanied by a crying face emoji, as reported by People magazine.
Kim Kardashian on North’s Fashion Choices
In a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian discussed North’s growing sense of style and self-confidence. Speaking on October 15, she noted, “She’s really mature in one sense, where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this, and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that.’” Kardashian emphasized North’s confidence and maturity, acknowledging the challenges of parenting a pre-teen.
Kardashian reflected on her own learning experiences as a mother, admitting to past mistakes in judgment. “I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she said, highlighting the unique pressures of raising children in the public eye.
Advice for North West Amid Criticism
Kardashian’s defense of North follows previous critiques regarding her daughter’s fashion choices, including a dermal piercing North wore during a trip to Rome. Despite the negative feedback, Kardashian has encouraged her daughter to embrace her individuality in fashion and beauty. “I’ve had those conversations with North about makeup because she loves her lip liner,” Kardashian explained.
As she navigates the complexities of parenting in the spotlight, Kardashian continues to support North’s self-expression. On the professional front, she is set to appear alongside notable actresses Naomi Watts and Glenn Close in the upcoming project, All’s Fair.
Through these experiences, Kardashian remains committed to fostering an environment where North can explore her identity, while also learning valuable lessons about public perception and personal style.
