Khushi Kapoor Faces Backlash After Ahaan Panday’s Success

The recent success of the film Saiyaara has sparked controversy surrounding actress Khushi Kapoor, who expressed a desire to debut alongside lead actor Ahaan Panday. As the film continues to perform strongly at the box office, earning over Rs 250 crore, social media users have taken to trolling Kapoor for her past comments.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has become the second-highest-grossing film of the year. The romantic musical drama marks a successful debut for Ahaan Panday, who has captured audience attention alongside his co-star Anit Padda. While their on-screen pairing has been well-received, Khushi Kapoor’s previous remarks have resurfaced, drawing criticism.
Khushi Kapoor’s Debut Aspirations
The renewed interest in Khushi’s comments comes from a 2019 interview on Neha Dhupia’s talk show, where she was asked about her preferred debut partner among Ahaan Panday, Aryan Khan, and Meezaan Jafri. Khushi stated, “Out of these three, I have seen only Ahaan acting, so he will be the safest choice for me.” This clip has gone viral as Ahaan’s film achieves massive box office success.
Now that Khushi is set to make her debut in the upcoming project The Archies, the juxtaposition of her past statement against Ahaan’s accomplishments has led to backlash online. Social media users have been quick to comment on the situation, with some suggesting that if Khushi had starred in Saiyaara, the film would not have performed as well.
Social Media Reactions
The trolling has intensified, with comments ranging from disbelief to mockery. One user remarked, “Thank God Khushi did not become a part of Saiyaara,” while another added, “If Khushi had been in Saiyaara, this film would have flopped. Anit made the whole film shine.” In the midst of this, some users observed a growing trend where many actresses now want to collaborate with Ahaan Panday.
The contrasting fortunes of Ahaan Panday and Khushi Kapoor highlight the unpredictable nature of the film industry and how quickly public perception can shift. As Saiyaara continues to garner attention, both actors are navigating their paths in a highly competitive environment.
