Exciting OTT Releases in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam for August 2025

As August 2025 approaches, film enthusiasts can look forward to a diverse array of films from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries debuting on various OTT platforms. Major services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Sun NXT, and Sony LIV will showcase everything from gripping dramas to light-hearted comedies, ensuring a vibrant viewing experience for audiences across the globe.
Highlighting New Releases
One of the most anticipated releases is 3 BHK, featuring actor Siddharth. Slated to premiere on Prime Video in the first week of August, this emotional drama will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu and Tamil. Alongside Siddharth, the film stars Deviyani, Chaitra J Achar, and Sarathkumar, and has already garnered mixed reviews from fans.
Another notable title is Thammudu, starring Nithiin, which will be available on Netflix starting August 1. This film, released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, has also received lukewarm audience responses.
Expanding Genres and Themes
The political drama series Mayasabha explores the complex fallout between two former friends from influential political families. It will stream on Sony LIV from August 7, 2025, adding depth to the month’s offerings.
On the Malayalam front, Surabhila Sundara Swapnam makes its direct OTT debut on Sun NXT. Set for release at midnight on August 1, this family drama features actors Dayyana Hameed, Rajalakshmi Rajan, and Paul Viji Varghese.
Adding to the mix, Mothevari Love Story marks the OTT debut of popular YouTube content creator Anil Geela. This feature, set against a village backdrop, will premiere on ZEE5 on August 8, 2025.
Family drama continues to be a central theme with Maaman, featuring Soori in the lead role. This film will also become available on ZEE5 from August 8, showcasing a heartfelt narrative directed by Prasanth Pandiraj.
Lastly, Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, is set to stream on Prime Video after its theatrical run, which began on July 25, 2025. The film has received a mixed response, heightening interest in its digital release.
