Aditi Rao Hydari Alerts Fans to WhatsApp Impersonation Scam
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has recently raised alarms about a fraudulent WhatsApp account impersonating her. On October 1, 2023, she took to Instagram to inform her followers that an individual has been using her images and messaging photographers regarding supposed “photoshoots” under false pretenses. In her statement, she emphasized that she does not directly contact anyone for work matters and urged fans to report any suspicious interactions to her team.
In her Instagram post, Hydari shared details about the impersonator, stating, “I wanted to flag something that a few people brought to my notice today. Someone has been pretending to be me on WhatsApp, using my pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’. It isn’t me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team.” She further warned her followers to be cautious and not engage with the impersonator’s number, thanking those who have offered their support.
The actress’s post quickly gained traction, with many fans and colleagues commending her swift action and transparency regarding the situation. Hydari’s proactive approach highlights the importance of online safety and awareness in a digital age where impersonation can easily occur.
Hydari’s Recent Work and Upcoming Projects
Beyond addressing the impersonation issue, Hydari recently celebrated the resurgence of the historic Wanaparthy saree, a garment that pays homage to her royal lineage. Hailing from the royal family of Wanaparthy in Telangana, she shared her reflections on social media about this cultural revival.
In terms of her professional endeavors, Hydari was last featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and appeared in the Tamil film Jigarthanda DoubleX. Looking ahead, she is set to star in the Hindi film Parivarik Manu Ranjan, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, directed by Varun V Sharma and penned by Brijendra Kala. Additionally, she is involved in a silent feature titled Gandhi Talks and is contributing to an international co-production named Lioness.
Her upcoming projects also include a film for Netflix titled O Saathi Re, directed by Imtiaz Ali, featuring actors Avinash Tewary and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles. Furthermore, she is currently filming an untitled project with director Rajesh M. Selva.
