Actress Meghna Vincent Reflects on Personal Struggles and Future Aspirations

Actress Meghna Vincent recently opened up about her personal struggles, including her childhood sacrifices and the impact of public scrutiny. In a candid interview, she discussed the emotional toll of online trolling and her perspective on marriage and divorce, revealing insights into her life that resonate with many.
Meghna first garnered attention for her comments regarding the poor condition of roads in Kerala, which she claimed made it nearly impossible to apply makeup while traveling. This statement went viral and led to a wave of trolling. Reflecting on that experience, she admitted, “I cried from time to time. I cry really hard. But that isn’t something that needs to be shown to everyone.” She emphasized the importance of resilience, stating, “If we have no other options, we won’t stay down for long — we rise again.”
Mother’s Sacrifices and Personal Growth
The actress shared a poignant memory about her mother, revealing the depths of her maternal sacrifices. “There was a time when my mother sold her own blood to buy Cerelac for me. I only came to know of this later from one of her friends; my mother never mentioned it,” Meghna recalled. This revelation highlights the struggles her family faced and the lengths to which her mother went to ensure her well-being.
When discussing her current views on marriage, Meghna expressed uncertainty about her future plans. “Wanting to settle down with family is every person’s wish. But I have no plan as of now. It could happen tomorrow, or next month, or it may never happen at all.” She emphasized that happiness should be prioritized over traditional milestones, stating, “There is no point in clinging to a thali (mangalsutra) or a marriage certificate if we aren’t happy even for a moment.”
Reflections on Divorce and Personal Identity
On the topic of her divorce, Meghna maintained a considerate approach, suggesting that those close to her already understand the reasons behind it. “Those who need to know the reason already know it. There are also certain legal restrictions. It is not something that can be openly discussed,” she explained. Her decision to keep certain aspects private reflects her desire to maintain a sense of dignity amidst public discourse.
Meghna further articulated her philosophy on life, asserting that being a good human being is far more valuable than material wealth. “The most important thing is to think in terms of ‘ours’ rather than ‘yours’ and ‘mine.’ Being a good human being matters more than wealth or the weight of the thali. None of that really matters to me. I have never felt that way,” she stated emphatically.
As Meghna navigates her career and personal life, her reflections resonate with a universal audience. Her experiences highlight the complexities of balancing personal aspirations with societal expectations, making her story both relatable and inspiring.
