Priyanka Chopra Touches Down in Hyderabad for SSMB 29 Shoot

Priyanka Chopra has arrived in Hyderabad for the next filming schedule of her eagerly awaited project, SSMB 29, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker **SS Rajamouli**. The actress landed in the Indian city on the morning of **October 9, 2023**, alongside her daughter, **Malti Marie**. This marks Chopra’s return to Indian cinema after a significant hiatus, and fans are buzzing with excitement over the collaboration with **Mahesh Babu**.
Chopra shared moments from their arrival on social media, posting photos on her Instagram stories. One image showed Malti’s tiny feet and hands, accompanied by the caption: “Mama and Malti.” Another captures the young girl gazing out the car window, with the words: “Hyderabad we made it.” While Chopra did not disclose the specific reasons for her visit, it is widely believed that she is in town for the anticipated shooting of SSMB 29, which is being produced on an impressive budget.
Filming Locations and Future Plans
The film has already seen substantial portions shot in **Odisha**, with plans for the cast and crew to travel to **South Africa** in the near future. A source informed **India Today** that East Africa has been selected as a primary filming location due to its rugged landscapes and untouched terrain, aligning with Rajamouli’s vision for a high-stakes adventure. Filming in South Africa is scheduled to commence in **August 2024**, followed by additional shoots in **Europe** and a location scouting mission in **Tanzania**.
SSMB 29 is described as an action-adventure film infused with elements of history and mythology, with a projected release set for **2027**.
Chopra’s Upcoming Projects
Beyond SSMB 29, Priyanka Chopra is involved in several other prominent projects. She is set to feature in **Heads Of State**, an action-comedy directed by **Ilya Naishuller**, alongside stars such as **Idris Elba**, **John Cena**, and **Paddy Considine**. In this film, Chopra plays **Noel Bisset**, an MI6 agent who teams up with Elba and Cena’s characters to navigate a turbulent diplomatic mission.
Furthermore, Chopra is set to portray a former female pirate in **The Bluff**, a historical drama set in the Caribbean during the 19th century. The film, which is co-written by **Frank E. Flowers** and **Joe Ballarini**, will showcase Chopra as a character who must defend her family against her past.
Additionally, Chopra will reprise her role as Nadia in the second season of the popular series **Citadel**. Her diverse array of upcoming projects reflects her dynamic presence in the entertainment industry, promising to keep fans engaged and eager for her return to both Indian and global cinema.
