Arab-Islamic Ministers Support Hamas’ Response to Trump Plan

In a significant show of solidarity, foreign ministers from several Arab and Islamic nations have expressed support for Hamas’s response to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan. The ministers from Qatar, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt praised Hamas’s commitment to release Israeli hostages as a critical step towards peace.
The joint statement from these ministers highlighted Hamas’s “readiness” to fulfill essential demands, which includes a call for the complete withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Gaza. They also emphasized the necessity for the Palestinian Authority to regain control in the region. The ministers condemned ongoing Israeli airstrikes and urged an immediate cessation of hostilities.
Calls for Humanitarian Support and a Two-State Solution
The foreign ministers collectively stressed the importance of ensuring humanitarian aid reaches those in need, as well as preventing the displacement of Palestinian residents. They advocated for a comprehensive roadmap towards a two-state solution, which envisions a peaceful coexistence between Israel and a sovereign Palestinian state.
Despite their support, Hamas has indicated that while it accepts significant components of the U.S. plan, further discussions are essential to finalize the terms. This position reflects ongoing complexities in negotiations, as the situation in Gaza continues to develop.
The foreign ministers’ statement represents a rare moment of unity among diverse nations, underscoring their shared concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the broader implications for regional stability. As discussions unfold, the international community will be watching closely to see how these diplomatic efforts impact the ongoing conflict and the lives of those affected.
