Varun Chaudhary, a Member of Parliament representing the Congress party from Ambala, has publicly accused Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Haryana, of systematically excluding Congress MPs from essential government meetings. Speaking at a press conference held at the residence of former MLA Rajpal Bhukhri in Sadhaura, Chaudhary criticized the state government’s approach, asserting that only representatives from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been invited to these gatherings.

Chaudhary highlighted that the norms dictate that all Members of Parliament, regardless of their party affiliation, should receive invitations to governmental meetings. He expressed frustration over the lack of engagement with Congress lawmakers, which he perceives as a deliberate attempt to sideline the opposition.

In his remarks, Chaudhary noted that he had proposed developmental projects worth ₹2 crore for the assembly segments of Yamunanagar, Jagadhri, and Sadhaura. Yet, he lamented that the government has yet to initiate any of these projects. He stated, “Despite my repeated inquiries in Parliament regarding the proposed Chandigarh–Yamunanagar rail line via Sadhaura and Naraingarh, the government’s responses have been inadequate. I will continue to raise this issue in the Lok Sabha until our demands are addressed.”

Chaudhary also responded to comments made by Captain Ajay Singh regarding the leadership of the Congress state president, asserting that those remarks reflect personal opinions. He reaffirmed his confidence in the newly appointed president, Rao Narendra Singh, stating, “The Congress will see positive results under his leadership.” He also announced that all party leaders would attend the oath-taking ceremony on October 6 in Chandigarh.

The Congress MP did not shy away from criticizing the BJP government for its policies towards the economically disadvantaged. He claimed that approximately 10.5 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards have been arbitrarily cancelled based on technical objections, such as discrepancies in children’s names or vehicle ownership within families. “It is beyond understanding what kind of revenge the BJP government is taking from the poor,” he remarked.

Chaudhary also addressed the government’s failure to fulfill its election promise of providing ₹2,100 in monthly assistance to women in the state. He described the current restrictions on the Lado Lakshmi Yojana—which limits eligibility to women with annual incomes below ₹1.8 lakh and who have resided in Haryana for over 15 years—as unreasonable.

During his visit to the Yamunanagar grain market, Chaudhary interacted with local farmers, expressing concern over the government’s portal-based procurement process. He argued that this system has created unnecessary complications, stating, “The government has trapped farmers in procedural delays, and procurement is not happening properly, leaving farmers distressed.”

Chaudhary’s statements reflect a growing discontent among opposition leaders regarding the current administration’s handling of developmental issues and welfare programs. As he continues to advocate for his constituents, the political landscape in Haryana remains charged with debate over inclusivity and accountability in governance.
