Pakistan Army Alleges India Plans False Flag Operation Amid Military Drill

India is currently conducting a large-scale tri-services military exercise known as Exercise Trishul, which features coordinated efforts from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. This significant drill has prompted a sharp response from Pakistan, where senior military officials have accused New Delhi of planning a “false flag operation.” The exercise is taking place amid heightened security concerns in Pakistan, particularly as activities of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have reportedly expanded to areas close to the capital, Islamabad.

In an informal discussion with journalists in Rawalpindi, Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), warned India against any provocative actions. He stated, “India should know that this time our response will be even stronger.” Lt Gen Chaudhry further claimed that Pakistan possesses “some evidence which indicates India’s false flag operation through sea routes,” suggesting that India might stage an operation via maritime channels to mislead the international community regarding a significant military action against Pakistan.

Indian intelligence agencies have dismissed these allegations as signs of “strategic instability and panic.” Sources within these agencies noted that the political situation in Pakistan is already fraught with tension due to interference from military leadership in civilian affairs. They characterized the remarks from Lt Gen Chaudhry as a narrative intended to foster a sense of unity amid domestic challenges, asserting that the internal situation is beyond their control.

Commencing on November 3, 2025, Exercise Trishul represents a crucial demonstration of the operational capabilities of India’s military branches. This multi-domain exercise, taking place over the Arabian Sea and the airspace above, marks the first major joint operation since Operation Sindhur.
