Ravens’ Lamar Jackson Ruled Out for Texans Game Due to Injury

Quarterback Lamar Jackson will not compete in the Baltimore Ravens‘ upcoming game against the Houston Texans this Sunday due to a hamstring injury. Jackson did not participate in practice throughout the week, forcing the Ravens to make a significant adjustment. In his absence, the team will rely on backup quarterback Cooper Rush, who previously served as a backup for the Dallas Cowboys.
Jackson suffered the injury during the Ravens’ 37-20 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday. This marks a critical moment for the Ravens as they seek to avoid what would be only the second 1-4 start in franchise history. The two-time NFL MVP has not missed a game due to injury since the conclusion of the 2022 season, making his absence particularly impactful.
The Ravens’ performance historically suffers without Jackson, as the team holds a record of 4-10 in games he does not play since 2018. This statistic highlights the importance of his role within the squad and adds pressure on Rush to deliver a strong performance against the Texans.
In addition to Jackson’s absence, Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton was also not present at practice on Friday and is now listed as questionable for the game. His potential absence could further challenge the Ravens as they aim to secure a much-needed victory.
As the Ravens prepare for this crucial matchup, the focus will be on how well Rush can step into the starting role and navigate the challenges posed by the Texans’ defense. The team hopes to bounce back from last week’s loss and avoid a rocky start to the season.
