Dense fog resulted in multiple vehicle collisions on National Highway 52 in Hisar, India, earlier today. Visibility dropped to just 10 metres, leading to a significant accident involving five vehicles. The incident began when a bus from the Kaithal depot collided with a dumper. Shortly after, another bus, an Alto car, and a motorcycle were caught in the subsequent chain reaction.

The fog conditions were severe, causing the initial crash and allowing no time for following drivers to react. Fortunately, around 100 passengers aboard both buses were reported safe, although the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Impact on Transportation and Safety Measures

The extreme weather conditions had broader implications beyond the accident. The Hisar–Delhi flight was cancelled due to the low visibility, disrupting travel plans for many passengers. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution during foggy conditions and to adhere to safety measures, including reduced speeds and increased following distances.

As weather forecasts predict continued fog in the region, local officials are monitoring the situation closely. The community is advised to remain alert and proactive in ensuring their safety while traveling.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by adverse weather conditions and the importance of road safety awareness.
