Singapore’s Former Deputy PM Teo Highlights India’s Cultural Impact

At the 5th Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Lecture, held recently, Singapore’s former Deputy Prime Minister and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, Teo Chee Hean, underscored the deep-rooted ties between India and Singapore. He highlighted that the name Singapore, or Singapura, is derived from Sanskrit, a testament to India’s significant cultural influence in Southeast Asia.
