Paresh Rawal’s film, The Taj Story, has continued to perform well at the box office, earning ₹6.67 crore in its second week. This brings the film’s total collection to ₹17.67 crore, marking a modest decline of approximately 40% from its opening week. The film, which explores the historical significance of the Taj Mahal, has successfully turned a profit on its budget of ₹7-8 crore.

The second week’s performance indicates that audiences remain engaged with the film. The daily breakdown of ticket sales for the second week is as follows: on Day 8 (Friday) the film earned ₹90 lakh; Day 9 (Saturday) saw ₹1.75 crore; Day 10 (Sunday) brought in ₹2.15 crore; Day 11 (Monday) earned ₹40 lakh; Day 12 (Tuesday) saw ₹60 lakh; Day 13 (Wednesday) collected ₹45 lakh; and on Day 14 (Thursday), the film garnered ₹42 lakh.

In The Taj Story, Rawal plays a guide at the Taj Mahal who becomes embroiled in a court case questioning the monument’s authenticity and purpose. This narrative has resonated with viewers, contributing to the film’s steady performance at the box office.

As Rawal celebrates this success, he also has another film, Thamma, performing well. Nonetheless, both films face competition from new releases, notably De De Pyaar De 2, featuring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, R Madhavan, and Meezaan Jaafri, as well as Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Rana Daggubati, and Bhagyashri Borse.

Looking ahead, Rawal is set to star in Bhoot Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan and featuring Akshay Kumar. Furthermore, he, along with Suniel Shetty, is expected to begin filming for Hera Pheri 3 in 2026, following the resolution of previous issues between the film’s makers and Rawal.

Overall, the performance of The Taj Story highlights both the film’s appeal and the competitive landscape of the box office as new titles emerge. As audiences continue to respond to the film’s themes and storytelling, its journey in cinemas is likely to remain robust in the coming weeks.
