The Central Railway has introduced 14 pairs of special train services to accommodate the growing passenger demand during the holiday season. These services will connect major metropolitan areas and key regional hubs, including Lucknow, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Gorakhpur, Madgaon, and Delhi, with important terminals in Mumbai and Pune. The initiative aims to alleviate congestion and provide relief to travelers during peak travel times, particularly around festivals and school breaks.

Comprehensive Travel Options for All Passengers

The special trains will feature a variety of coach classes to cater to different passenger needs. Available options include AC First Class, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class. This diverse selection ensures that all types of travelers will find a suitable and comfortable option during the busy season.

The Central Railway announced the schedule for the initial departures of these special services, which began on December 6, 2025. The first train departed from the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai to Lucknow at 12:15 PM. This was followed by a train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Hazur Sahib Nanded, which left at 05:15 PM. Other notable departures included a train from Pune to Bengaluru at 7:00 PM and a service from Nagpur to CSMT at 10:10 PM.

On December 7, the schedule continued with additional services. The LTT to Madgaon train departed at 11:10 AM, followed by the CSMT to Nagpur service at 3:30 PM, the LTT to Hyderabad at 5:20 PM, and the Pune to Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi) train at 8:20 PM.

Future Services and Ongoing Demand

In response to the sustained demand for travel, the Central Railway has indicated that more special trains are currently being planned. Details regarding these additional services will be communicated to the public shortly.

This initiative by the Central Railway reflects a proactive approach to managing increased passenger volumes during a busy travel period. By enhancing connectivity between key locations and providing various travel classes, the railway aims to make long-distance journeys more accessible and comfortable for all travelers.
